Efforts to get official status for Tulu on-going: Dr. Bharat Shetty Y

Mangalore North Assembly Constituency MLA Dr. Bharat Shetty Y said that it is not good to spread slander about Tulu speakers, such misconceptions should be avoided.

Local municipal member Kiran Kumar Kodical spoke at the inauguration that for the first time in the municipal area Tulu nameplate with Kannada has been installed in the grant of municipality members. Ministers, MLAs and MPs are constantly trying to identify the Tulu script.  Work is also underway to resolve the technical issues. He informed that with time we will get there.

Tulu Sahitya Akademi President Dayananda Kattal said that the MLAs and the chairman of the authority have given a grant of 9 crores for the construction of the Tulu Academy building from various sources.  There is no truth in the feeling that Tulu people oppose Kannada.  He said that while respecting Kannada with respect, we are trying to recognize Tulu as mother tongue.  

Municipality Member, Kiran Kumar Kodical Manoj Kumar, former Deputy Mayor Sumangala, Elders Gopal Kotyan, Tulu Nadu Defense Forum Founder President Yogeesh Shetty Jeppu, Tulu Nadu Kudla President Ashwath Tuluve, Tuluver Kudla President Prateek Pujari, prominent Umesh Malarayasana, S.  Booth president, office bearers of Tulu organization, members, local citizens were present.
