Mangalore: Narayanaguru, Mangaladevi circle inaugurated

Naming former ladyhill circle as 'Narayana Guru Circle' has been the demands of localites for a long time. Foundation stone for the same was laid couple of months back. Mangaladevi circle has been another circle that has got a makeover.

Mangalore: Ladyhill Circle has that been renamed as ‘Bhramashree Narayana Guru Circle’ was inaugurated by Dakshina Kannada district incharge minister Sunil Kumar on Monday, October 3.

Speaking on the occasion, minister Sunil Kumar said, “Bhramashree Narayana Guru Circle is inaugurated in the prime location of Mangaluru. Narayana Guru is an inspiration for all and the circle will remind people on his ideologies. I congratulate MCC and MUDA for taking up this development work of the circle. We don’t believe in controversies and we never indulged in it as well.”

Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyasa Kamath welcomed the gathering and said, “The long pending demand to construct and rename Ladyhill circle as Narayana Guru circle by various organisations has been fulfilled. The circle was constructed at a cost of Rs 50 lacs in a record time of less than 2 months.”

Meanwhile, people who worked for these projects were felicitated. Later in the day, Mangaladevi Circle was also inaugurated.

Mangalore loksabha MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Mangaluru North MLA Dr Bharath Y Shetty, Mayor Jayanand Anchan, Deputy Mayor Poornima, former mayor Premananda Shetty, corporators Ganesh Kulal, former MUDA chairman Ravi Shankar Mijar and others were present.
